Nail Polish…What’s Safe In The World??

Nail polishes are used to show expression or even just add a little color. However, did you know that some of the pretty colored nail polishes are dangerous?? They are the ones that contain 3 toxic carcinogenic ingredients.
I know what you saying. What does that even mean.
Well, carcinogenic ingredients is an ingredient that has been shown to cause cancer. It can be found in the nail polishes that contain toluene, formaldehyde , and Dibuthyl phthalate (DBP).

Toluene is a clear, colorless liquid with a distinctive smell. Toluene occurs naturally in crude oil and in the tolu tree. It is also produced in the process of making gasoline and other fuels from crude oil and making coke from coal. Toluene is used in making paints, paint thinners, fingernail polish, lacquers, adhesives, and rubber and in some printing and leather tanning processes.

Formaldehyde: acts as a nail hardener and helps stop polish from chipping. But as any high school biology can tell you it can give you it can give you headaches, fatigue, skin rashes, dizziness while irritating eyes, nose and throat and can cause rashes and other skin irritations.

DBP: also known as this is probably the most toxic of the trio and it’s the one we know the least about. It acts as a binder to improve the lasting power of our polish. But it’s also been linked to cancer in lab animals, and underdeveloped genitals and other long-term fertility problems in newborn boys. It’s the same chemical used in adhesives or printing inks.

What is safe anymore??? Ill be posting the safest nail polishes to buy later on today.
