It’s Something About That Denman

Nothing like a Denman…
One of my main tools that I use to contain my beastly TWA πŸ˜‚ is my Denman brush. It’s a must have in my books. Not only does a great job while detangling my hair, but it also gets all of the kinks out with out ripping out my hair. Can you say awesomeness.

Unlike some of the other brushes I’ve had in the past, the bristles glide past my hair like butter. I also like the fact that the brush comes in multiple different sizes. I mean, I literally have the keychain sized one if I’m in need for a quick fix lol.

It like the cutest thing ever!!πŸ˜πŸ’πŸ½πŸ™‹πŸ½

While natural, after co washing my hair I usually moisturize my hair with my Shea butter mix, add a leave in conditioner, and a bit of flax seed gel. Using the Denman brush, I define my curls more with the brush. I mean this brush helps deliver the juiciest curls ever!!!

Here’s another picture I found on Pinterest of curls defined with the Denman brush. Can you say hair porn or what, gotta love those curls.

Let the Games Begin!!πŸ‘ŠπŸΎ

I’m excited to say, I started my 1st diet bet challenge yesterday with the My Natural Sistas New Year Challenge.

The official start date was yesterday and it ends on the 9th of February.

I’m so ready to win. 11lbs, 4 weeks, wish me good luck..

Put Your Moolah Where Your Mouth Is…

I just came across this app called DietBet. Just in the knock of time while I’m preparing to lose weight.

You bet money on yourself to lose weight and between you and the other players that win, you split the money in the pot. It’s like getting paid for something you already had planned to do. Awesomeness right?? Definitely going to check it out to find one to start soon.

Not Me…Knot Today

I’ve been searching for a leave in conditioner that makes me fall in love and I think I finally found it.

This stuff, Knot Today by Kinky Curly, is absolutely freaking awesome. I got if from Target and paid $16.99 for it but after doing some research, it was a pretty good deal because the 8 oz bottle was $10 on the website if I’m not mistaken.

My hair has recently fell in love with my scalp since I big chopped. I’ve come to that conclusion by how much they love hugging each other when it’s time to detangle and styleπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Using this leave in helps the two of their separation anxiety to easy the defanging process greatly.

If you would like to read more about it, I will put a link below. What’s you’re favorite leave in conditioner cause I love trying out new things.

Thanks for reading, comment, and follow.

Much love,

The Big Choppa πŸ’‡πŸ½

It’s take bravery and confidence to go through the big chop phase. Trouble styling, feminising it up, and not having the option for the last minute pony is what startled me. However, I got rid of the negative thoughts and I did it, and guess what ladies and gents… It feels GREAT!!! I’ve been missing out but now I’m a part of the natural team.

Doing a big chop means going through the hair and chopping off the hair that is unnatural or processed.

While the hair is wet, I would use an aid such as conditioner or a gel to reveal the line of demarcation between the natural and processed hair. This line is where I would then cut the damaged hair off using shears.

In my Opinion, the best way to grow healthy, natural, strong, and long hair is to start over. I say this because I think it’s easier to care for a hair in a single state as opposed to different states of hair going through different phases or transitioning to natural.

I was transitioning for almost 6 months trying to wear transitioning protective styles, mostly cold wave rods, but to me they were hard to maintain.
I did a “big chop” in November of 2014 and failed at going natural due to frustration styling it.
I went back to getting relaxers for a full year unfortunately, finishing the year off bone straight.

I big chopped again December 31,2015 and started off fresh for the new year.

Now I have a TWA (tiny weeny Afro) and to my surprise, I absolutely love it. Many people are afraid of the big chop but I say go for it. I’m glad to part of this natural world lol.

Thank you for reading. Tell me about yourself. Are you natural? Thinking about it? I’d love to hear any questions or comments. Til’ next time.
